Operations Manager | Construction Protective Services | New Orleans/Baton Rouge, LA

We are looking for a professional candidate who is searching for a position that includes both hands on experience and office environment. This position will be responsible for the daily running of this office including scheduling, dispatching, technicians, payroll, HR and other administrative duties. In this position, you will be responsible for recruitment and staffing of our contract security sites, as well as employee relations, problem solving, loss prevention reporting, and scheduling of officers.

This is an extremely fast paced environment and requires a detail oriented person who enjoys hard work and is anxious to please our customers. This position may lead to other rewarding positions depending upon the success of this individual. It is the desire that this position will lead up to a Branch Manager position, depending upon the performance in this current role, growth of business, etc... The Operations Manager is responsible for leadership of all branch operations with the objective of increasing profitability, growth and sustainability. In this position, you will report to an area manager who will guide you and groom you while in this position. Attains short and long-term objectives for profit, growth, and employee and client retention. These objectives are achieved through the delivery of excellent customer service and efficient business management. Manages the daily operation of all client service functions within a designated territory. This position requires exceptional internal and external customer service skills, recruitment experience, computer proficiency and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (not limited to)
  • Reviews and responds daily to financial and other business management information provided by corporate systems.
  • Will oversee a staff of up to 7 people.
  • Meets operational goals, to include overtime, direct labor, claims, site visits, response claims and weekly branch recap reports.
  • Serves as a key point of client contact to ensure the delivery of high quality customer service. Evaluates service quality and initiates any necessary corrective action in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ensures that staff members understand and comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures ample staffing levels by overseeing the recruitment, selection, orientation, training, development, scheduling and retention of high caliber officers, staff and supervisors. Ensures that every person is treated with dignity and respect. Plans, assigns, and directs work; coaches associates, and carries out disciplinary actions, as necessary. Supports staff as appropriate in carrying out their respective responsibilities.
  • Coordinates resources for the effective use of all vehicles. Maintains employee/driver eligibility in accordance of company safety policies.
  • Provides client support in security planning, assessments and surveys, and reviews and updates post orders.
  • Works with clients, account executives, support staff and risk management to ensure appropriate security solutions are provided at every site. Reports to risk management on reported or suspected losses, and unresolved inadequate client security programs.
  • Provides input on and champions company initiatives; promptly and effectively resolves human resources and administrative issues and facilitates administrative and operational programs. Works cooperatively with corporate resources according to company requirements.
  • Responsible for directing field supervisors to insure that they are scheduled according to operational needs; are punctual, remain alert, understand all post orders, and maintain a professional appearance. Provide equipment and material as necessary for all activities.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with maintenance personnel to insure problems are repaired in a timely fashion.
  • Responsible for initial and ongoing training. Ensures training is documented and follows policies set forth by the corporate office. Evaluate and maximizes field supervisor's and officer's potential. Reviews monthly training bulletins with all field supervisors; provides all appropriate functional training for site.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: (not limied to)
  • Responsible for company property in their possession; maintain safe driving habits, regular maintenance of vehicle, condition of vehicle, use of phones, radios, tools, equipment, etc.
  • Performs annual reviews of branch staff.
  • Sales Incentive Program

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field; or a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in field related to the security or other services industry and/or profit center business management, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Experience in all functional areas is key and must possess strong change management and communication skills.

  • Fluent in English speaking skills, and use as the primary language for communication. Must have strong verbal, problem-solving and follow-up skills; and the ability to coordinate and perform several tasks simultaneously.

  • Use of personal computer, email, MS Word, Internet and spreadsheet software, company provided timekeeping and billing systems.

  • Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation, instruction, persuasion, and/or speaking with others.
  • Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, media and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regular use of vehicle required in the performance of duties.
  • Must be able to multitask an be able o resolve problems with customers in a timely and courteous manner
  • Responding to emergencies and incidents after hours if needed.
  • Must have valid drivers license.
  • Must be able travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Frequent travel to client sites for site visits, loss prevention reports and site surveys.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional walking, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling in the performance of site surveys and loss prevention reports.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Eyesight sufficient to read, write and operate equipment essential to this position. Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
    • Must have manual dexterity to manage telephones and computer equipment simultaneously and with respect to other duties.
    • Hearing sufficient to communicate with team members and personnel.
    • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
    • Must be able to maintain visual acuity and alertness for long periods of time.
